The Question.
The lovely experience of matching fabrics, looses it's feeling when the materials don't last in time.
- How do we make them last longer?
The Dream
Since i was a kid, finding quality clothing in Ecuador was such a challenge. We were used to paying big money for bad quality garments. But why?
During my research, i always came across with the same answer;
"Demand in Ecuador always requires low price products" Phrase which i would like to respond with one of my grandmother's favorites phrases.
"LO BARATO SALE CARO" what means that cheap ends up being expensive.
The rest ist history. After more than 2 years of testing thousands of textiles & textures, i couldn't get the feeling i was looking for. During this complex process, i realized something.
I needed quality not only for the fabrics, but for every single activity behind Basicz Studio. Reason why we still produce our garments on local ground, in order to create the first ethical and fair supply chain on the Ecuadorian Textile Industry.
I know dreams were big, but thankfully;
- La calidad no es cuestión de gustos.
The Challenge
Offering a premium hoodie for $80 in the 4th poorest economy in South America sounds stupid for a normal businessman, but;
-What if this $80 hoodie has the best quality of the world?
This is the point when we moved to Europe with low budget but two 23kg luggage full of Basicz handicrafts. Selling our goods in first world markets like; Germany, Netherlands and USA proved our latin people that Basicz Studio have the quality to compete with huge brands like Essentials or Supreme.
There's is just one difference; you don't need $350 to get a premium 665gsm French Terry Cotton Hoodie.
